SEOUL - week two or so

Seoul is wonderful. It is such a cool experience. I am actually very surprised at my contentment here; I was VERY nervous, although I never admitted it to anyone until now.

I am starting to feel like I am really here for school and getting in the mind-set for a studio project. I am starting to get to know the city a tiny bit, so maybe I can start thinking about what a design for housing needs . . . a little bit.

The Korean food is amazing, especially the dumplings. I am going to continue raving about these!! The beer is cheap!

Today we went to the Prada Transformer - pictures to come! We also went to Insadong so Ssamzie Market . . . . vintage and new beautiful clothes, handbags, shoes. I got out with only a jacket, but everything was relatively cheap.

Things I love here:
1. dumplings
2. 7 eleven in the ground floor of our apartment building . . . selling 700 won Coke ZERO
3. t-money cards that work for subway, bus, taxi, and vending machines
4. asian pears
5. street vendors selling scarves . . . stay away from me or I will buy every color you have!
6. beautiful women with beautiful shoes (I am always staring at their feet!!)
7. innovative designs combined with tradition
8. the mountains in the background of the skyscrapers
9. chicken & beer night
10. 400 won (35 american cents) McDonalds icecream cones

Ok, more pictures soon.

  1. Umm I would love the shoes, too. Oh and the Coke Zero. I can't wait to hear more about it. What's the time different between there and Memphis? Just curious.
