BUKHANSAN MTN - korea national park

Andy & I spent the Chuseok Holiday (Korean Harvest Festival, compared with our Thanksgiving) hiking at Bukhansan, to the highest peak in the National Park, Baegundae. This amazing view is only 7 subway stops and 2 hours of stair-master-like climbing away from where we live. (The trail is only 4 kilometers horizontal distance, but you are climing over 800 meters -about 2600 feet- in height.)I had a little fun playing with these photos, but obviously the views were beautiful. It is incredible to see the city from this view (click photo to enlarge):
I stopped climbing at about 750 meters while Andy continued to the very top. Although I was very tired, it was the heights that were a little too much for me at this point. I people-watched all the crazy Koreans off-trailing down the mountain:

  1. Amazing Photos!! But, as I can attest - the views were even better in person. Keep it coming!

I am catching up on your blog and love your photos and comments.First of all we are so happy to hear that your Mom and sister can now join your Dad in Denver and that you will all be together over the holidays-give them our best.
I love all your photos but really liked the one of you and Andrew sitting next to each other probably during your hike and both of you look very introspective-would love a copy of that some time. Keep blogging-I get to learn more about you and Andrew's experiences first hand. Andy's Mom
