excursion with sirrkalisa

we take excursions every wednesday with siirkalisa (our history professor)... this time we started with the hotel limma which is directly across from my apartment. the building was a student union building previous to being a hotel. it was build in 1903 and could be categorized as a "national romantic" building; the paris pavillion was the inspiration for its design. we call this building "the palace" and can see receptions going on there through the windows from our apartment.

now luxury apartments... very beautiful stain glass and what is thought to be one of the most beautiful staircases. i have to admit, i don't remember everything about this one.
