i have read these a couple times since being here - one is from my boyfriend, andy, one from my mom, and the one on top is from my dear friend, sarah weis (soon to be usandizaga). they are my favorite cards from my favorite friends :) and i thought i needed to bring them since i miss them and wish they were here!!!
i am meeting andy in stockholm in 5 weeks. any suggestions about where to stay / etc? we haven't really made any other plans yet besides our flights. we are planning on taking the overnight ferry back to helsinki after the weekend, which i am looking forward to. plus, we can walk from the ferries to my apartment because i am so close to the city center.
we had our first lecture for finnish history yesterday with our professor, siirkalissa. we wandered around helsinki - mostly senate square. we saw most of the buildings here that were built before the 20th century... there are very few of them, but they are beautiful!
These are images of the main library, part of the university of helsinki campus. my favorite part are the original bookcases! we will have history tuesday and wednesday mornings with siirkaliisa and i am looking forward to it! she is joining
us for sauna this friday... we have to be naked, which is a little scary. i think i might keep my towel on (don't worry, we are separate from the boys!) then we will eat at the sea horse. we had to pre-order and i chose the herrings... apparently it will just be a big plate of little fish. do i eat the heads?
